Kelli DiFazio

Author, Coach, Entrepreneur

In addition to being a Board Certified International Health Coach, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I am a dog-lover, shark-lover, stand-up paddle boarder, golfer, runner, hiker, skier, writer, photographer and music aficionado. I am also a self-taught plant-based chef, and dedicated entrepreneur.

I was born and raised in Dix Hills, NY & Rumson, NJ. I was an athlete my whole life, playing tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball & my passion sport, soccer, which I played from age 6 until sophomore year of high school. An ankle injury and eventually surgery, took me out for the first time in my life. In my recovery, I became interested in physical therapy while taking anatomy & physiology classes, which ultimately led to my freshman year being spent in the PT program at Drexel University. After a year, I transferred to Hawaii Pacific University where I finished with a BS in Advertising & Public Relations.

I spent my Junior & Senior year of university struggling with my weight. Despite my pretty active Hawaii lifestyle, I spent a lot of my time drinking alcohol and eating unhealthy college/bar food, that I realized I could not maintain forever. I was still an athlete, paddling for Lanikai Canoe Club, but I struggled to perform when I wasn't eating or sleeping well due to that lifestyle choice. My body was inflamed & my body's cycle was more of a downward spiral.

Shortly after graduating, I decided to remove alcohol from my lifestyle, and with it removed countless calories, as well as bad-habit forming routines of poor sleep & over indulgence. Detoxing was a long, slow, & hard process, because despite what you may think, years of drinking & eating poorly doesn't leave your body in a 3-day juice cleanse or detox program. I discovered new food intolerances, developed chronic constipation, ovarian cysts, lost my menstrual cycle, all while starting to exercise regularly again, and seemingly eating "healthy."

I was also working in marketing on Wall Street which came with 50 + hour work weeks, client & dinner outings, plus the NYC Social life & music scene which ended shortly after 4 am. My early 20s were well spent, and exhausted. I was ready to get out of there, and slow down. I missed nature, I missed exercising outside, and I missed quality time with smaller groups of people. My plan was to move back to Hawaii, but right as I was announcing it, I was introduced to my now Fiancé, Travis. He shortly swept me off to Portsmouth, NH.

In a new place, and able to reinvent myself yet again, I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition year-long Health Coaching certification program where I was trained in over 100 dietary theories, fundamentals of nutrition, stress management techniques, and the highest level of coaching skills.

Within four months of starting the program and REALLY learning what health looked like, I lost 20 lbs, with what felt like no effort at all. I removed all the things from my life that were holding me back from optimal health, minimized things I didn't feel l could completely give up, and ultimately found a balance & a rhythm that truly is a lifestyle choice, not a diet or exercise regime.

In December 2016, I started my first health coaching company Health Like a Boss. In February 2017, my fiancé & I moved to his hometown of Enfield, NH, where I rebranded, and launched River Valley Health & Wellness to serve the Upper Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. Health Like a Boss has since been repurposed as the ultimate resource for living an effortlessly healthy lifestyle.

It is my mission to educate & transform individual lives through the support of a self-healing body using the power of whole foods, superfoods, self-care, & lifestyle choices that are easy and effortless.
